The Original Delta Fireballs
The Original Delta Fireballs are a throw back to old time blues ...a style they refer to as "Juke Joint Music." ...in the same traditional manner as the one man bands of Beale street Memphis and Chicago's Maxwell street. ...This pair has taken the humble duo format and revitalized it.
--Big City Rhythm & Blues Magazine
...this duo set featuring vocalist-harpist Geneva Red and one man band Jackie Wolworth is raw in every aspect; from Wolworth's Joe Hill Louis - style drumming to his moiling, writhing slide-guitar work... Red shows a delectable toughness as well, particularly with the Little Walter licks she spreads throughout the extended jams that spontaneously erupt during the set.
--Living Blues Magazine
61 and 49, I remember the location well. Question is: Has Red and Jack made any deals down there? I only ask because it seems frightfully suspicious that two young folks from Wisconsin are so damn hot. You got something workin' that we don't know about?!
--Tony Bonyata - Music Journalist
You own the one man band thing and I had Dr. Ross on this very stage.
--Eric King - Blind Willie's, Atlanta, GA.
I greatly enjoyed your music during the many concerts throughout the summer in the Bennett courtyard. The Blues are an integral part of the American music scene and you are doing a great job in preserving and promoting the artistry of the Delta Blues. We have had many visitors express their thanks for your music during the summer.
--Dale Williams - Director, H.H. Bennett Studio & History Center
Saw your Friday night show at the Atlanta History Center ---WOW! I thought you were far and away the star of the evening and I was thrilled when you came back out to play with Sandra Hall.
--Tammy - Fan, the Atlanta History Center
I gotta be honest with you, when I walked in and saw two people I thought what the heck is this! Well it didn't take but one or two songs and I thought differently. Your two piece took me to a place I've never been before. Thanks! All I had to do was close my eyes and listen to appreciate the stuff you and Five and Dime were doing.
--Eric - Fan, Hotel Mead, Wisconsin Rapids, WI.
Your the best one man band unit I've ever heard!
--Jimmy Johnson - Chicago Blues Guitar Legend
Eat your heart out White Stripes.
--Maggie Mortenson - Executive Director, Blues Music Assoc.

Young artists' inspiration
In Lima, Ohio two 8th grade students collaborated on this beautiful painting of Geneva Red. Inspired by her promo photo, this painting hung in a gallery that included other luminary musicians including singers Koko Taylor and Janis Joplin as well as blues harp player, Junior Wells. The independent organization The Blues Committee, a group of volunteers that organize blues events and award scholarships to students, has invited The Original Delta Fireballs back to Lima in January for another Artist In Residence with young people at North Middle School and St. Gerard School. Visit the Blues Committee's website at www.picklesbluesextravaganza.com to see what these fine folks bring to their Lima, Ohio community every year.
UPDATE... Red was presented with this marvelous painting at her 2011 Artist In Residence finale in Lima, Ohio on Friday January 14th. Michael Huffman and Jerry "Pickle" Felter of the Blues Commttee made the presentation.

Come On With It - Live is on course
The Original Delta Fireballs' new CD Come On With It - Live is charting on "blues radio top 25" lists across the nation. This "documentary style" CD has really been turning a lot of new fans on to what a performance by the duo is all about! Listen for it on a station near you.
Recorded live during the "Two Reds Are Better Than One" concert held on June 14, 2006, this new CD features 10 of your favorite songs from the performance that evening including; I've Had My Fun, Blue and Lonesome, Bring it on Home, Born Under a Bad Sign, Don't Explain.
This is what a classic performance by The Original Delta Fireballs (Geneva Red & Jackie 5 & Dime) is all about. You can feel the energy in the room as the audience applauds, claps along with the performers, and shouts their approval throughout. Those of you that were there that June evening know what a wonderful night of music it was, and those of you who could not attend get a second chance.
5 & Dime by popular request
Due to the popular interest in 5&Dime’s earlier accomplishments we’ve begun uploading a few more photos and recordings from his past for your perusal. As a top flight sideman 5&Dime is getting a lot of attention. He’s revered as a musician’s musician and one of those guitar players that always know how to fit in. One of the best kind of rhythm section players, a true “you don’t always notice him until he lays out” type of accompanist, his bio describes his broad “self taught” musical skills and experience. So now you can see and hear him in a few other music settings. Just click on the link to his bio page and scroll down to the bottom and click the link to “the earlier photos and music clips".
